Four Year Anniversary
Four years, but it doesn't seem all that long ago. Definatly an emotional day for America. Seeing that picture makes me remember all of that day pretty much. Today in the service, Pastor asked us "what were you doing on September 11, 2001". And I will tell you...
I remember I was in fourth grade. It was Tuesday which meant music day. Mrs. Danford would take us every Tuesday to the gym for music class. I also remember it was some voting day so all of these adults were in there voting. While we were walking into the room off the side of the gym, Mrs. Danford gasped. There was a television in the gym and the first thing I saw was this really tall building smoking. They said it was from New York City. On the bottom of the screen, I saw "TERROR ATTACK Hijacked Planes Crash Into World Trade Centers". I didn't know what those were so I thought it was no big deal. Then over half of music class, Ms. Greene talked about what the Twin Towers were and why this was such a bad thing.
Throughout that whole day, I saw my classroom shrink drastically because kids parents were picking their kids up from school. I remember being jealous that my mom didn't pick me up. By this time, I was really scared that these "bad men" would come and crash a plane into my school. When Mom picked me and Philip up from Hatton and Audrey from Hyre, I was glued to the tv as I saw the events unfold. The plane crash in Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. I was so worried that Daddy would be hurt. When he pulled into the driveway, I ran out to his car and gave him a big hug.
I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was a hard time, and still is, for America.
