Camping 2005
Just got back from camping..like 5 hours ago! It was a lot of fun. And thanks to a certain someone, many of you reading this know exactly how much fun it was. :) And if you weren't there or you were just inside your camper doing homework for 4 hours, I'll tell you about it...
Well, Friday I got home from school and Becky was already here. We left around 5:15ish and drove for about 2 hours. Usually I would die being stuck in a car with 3 other people for that long, but after being in a car for 15 hours I can handle anything. Anyhow, we got to the grounds at like 7 or 8 I guess. It was raining so we went into the Eddy's camper while my poor parents pitched our tent. We watched Thomas The Tank Engine and were entertained by the Adams children. Soon after it stopped raining, we went back to our site. The inside of our tent was soaking wet so Mom had us three girls mop it up with paper towels, dish rags, and towels. It actually got pretty clean. Then we blew up the air mattress. Of course ours was missing the plug so that was useless. We then attempted to blow up Becky's which took us forever because we couldn't get the plug closed intime after putting the air in. Well, we got all situated in the tent and then went and talked with the rest of the group. Once we got to bed, Audrey was out like a light and me and Becky talked for a bit. Aud and Becky got the air mattress and I slept on the un-inflated mattress.
The next morning I woke up to a herd of 3 year olds' training wheels. That whole morning is blurry in my mind because I was so out of it. Emily arrived around 3ish with the Blasdel's. We played football, catch, cards, silly golf, bike riding, and dump Becky in the dumpster. Katie caught a grasshopper and Philip played with his new Corvette car aaall day. Oh, and we can't forget that physical game of beat-up-the-first-baseman kickball game either. That night we all sat around the camp fire talking, eating S'mores, and playing Bible MadGab. Ow, hat aim ish air eey ardtu lahy. I went to bed half asleep anyways. That was probably the best part of this whole trip (not the game, that whole day :-D)
The next day, Sunday morning, I got up early and made some of my hot chocolate. That is what I am going to drink every morning when I am an adult because I am never going to pick up coffee. I try but it is so nasty. Or maybe a Pepsi will do... Anyways, I had that and got packed up. I played catch and all the listed above activities. We (Audrey, Emily, and I) played baseball. I was so proud of myself when I cracked open the baseball, even if it was made of cheap plastic. We loaded up the Jeep and headed for home. Emily and I were in the back of the Jeep. Mind you, this is a 5 passenger vehicle, not 7. A tire took up a good portion of our area. We played Egyptian Rat Screw until we got tired of that and then tried to sleep with Becky's body pillow. That didn't work out to well. It is physically impossible to get comfortable back there. It was so hot, too! I'm like, "Audrey, can you roll down your window, I'm very hot." Of course, she didn't. I finally fell asleep until about 3 when we stopped at Wendy's in Canton for lunch. Soon we were off again, this time with Audrey and Becky in the back. We got home around 4:15 and then went to choir practice.
This was a really good camping trip. I had a lot of fun. Trust me, you haven't lived until you have gone camping with Brown Street Baptist Church.
Pictures More to come!
