Strange Remedy
While camping this weekend, Becky was sick. Now Mom is sick. Now I am sick. Not too bad, but hopefully it won't get any worse.
Well, today in Language Arts, my friend Hayley who sits behind me was talking about how she has a cold and sinus pressure, along with all that other good stuff. Mr. Wentzel told her about how he once heard a natural remedy for this. What you do is you take a cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon of salt, and 1/2 a tablespoon of baking powder(or soda, I forget!) You mix these together and you stick your nose in it and inhale. This then causes the liquid to go directly in through your nostrils, down your throat, and out your mouth. All of that "beautiful junk" comes out of your nose.
Now, I was talking to Hayley online and she said she did this. I was having a stuffy, plugged up nose so I did the stupid thing and try this remedy. So, I got the ingrediants and inhaled this crap. Oh, my, that was the worst possible thing I could have done! My lips now sting from the salt, it tasted/smelled absolutly horrible, and my throat burns!! And not to mention I was coughing and gagging.
But, the weird thing is it actually helped with my nose. And altough it worked, I would not recomend you doing this...ever! Don't put you through it. I know I'm never doing that again. Not to mention it probably wasn't even all that safe. So, I guess the main thing you should get out of this, if anything at all, is that even Elizabeth Hembree does stupid things. :)
