The Perfect Christmas
Here is the paragraph I had to write for language arts class. It is entitled The Perfect Christmas. First we had to make an acrostic and transfer the select lines into sentences for our paragraph. Enjoy!
The Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year. As we drive down the streets and avenues, I love to look into people’s houses to see the tree lights glowing beautifully within. The outsides are all decorated to pure perfection with icicle lights and radiant reindeer statues. Everyone is happy, with the exception of Ebenezer Scrooge. The entire family rests at home, waiting for anticipated morning to arrive. Nativity scenes are displayed proudly by Christians. One of my favorite activities is just decorating the house with villages, snowmen, and angels. Christmas morning is magnificent at my house. When I wake up, the first thing I see are lots of pretty gift wrapped presents awaiting the time to be ripped open. Eggnog and the special Christmas casserole are consumed for breakfast. The scent and warmth of the fireplace fill the entire atmosphere. When it comes time for the family, we feast out on a wonderful selection of homemade food, my favorite being the lumpy mashed potatoes prepared by my mother. Afterward, the leftovers are enough to fill us for weeks on after. Best of all, our family is united. We hardly ever see each other and fellowship together outside of holidays and special occasions. At church I love how Christ is recognized as the “reason for the season”. I believe people forget what Christmas is based on: Jesus’ birth many years ago, who came to save the world of their sins. I also love to sing “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”, and “Angels We Have Heard On High”, because of the beautiful harmonization. One of my most ambitious moments would be to see the Nutcracker ballet performed.
It looks as if I have the perfect Christmas already!

Very nice, Beth. Hope you don't get in trouble for the "lumpy potatoes" comment :)
