Prez Day

Happy Presidents Day, and, indeed, it is happy. No school. But of course, that is not why I am so happy *cough cough* I am celebrating our past and present president(s) Yep, I am...of course I am

This morning me and my sister got in a 'fight' but it ended in an "eye opening" conversation. I cleaned the kitchen and audrey cleaned the room and the living room. Then I made cupcakes, but I didn't bake them all the way so they are kinda goopy, but not liquified. No, I would have sense to keep them in the oven longer if they were still pure batter. Anyways, I'm gonna go now becuase so far, this day has been boring.

After The Surprise

As you might have already know, I went to Kristen's surprise birthday party. We all went over to her house @ 6:00 and decorated the basement. She was "babysitting" at the Adams house. I put streamers coming down from the doorway. Bobby called her down into the pitch black basement when she came home and when she got to the streamers and she kinda looked at them like "What the Heck?!" and she walked towards us alittle bit before turning on the light. When she did and we all yelled surprise she was about to fall over and pass out. I seriously thought that she was gonna have a heart attack or something. After the big surprise and she kinda figured out what was going on, I could tell that she was pretty happy about it. She opened presents and then we went upstairs to have snacks and cake and stuff. Vicki told us that we had a surprise and then theres a knock at door and it was Jessica Blasdel. She is a nail technition i think its called so we learned how to do our nails, like push back the cuticle adn even how to shake a bottle of nail polish the right way. It was fun. After all that, we were talking about TPing the Pastor's house, but decided against it was -100 degrees (exageration) outside and he had to go a funeral in the morning. We went downstairs and watched the home movie entitled "Kristen's Birth" OMGosh, she was so cute!! LOL This morning we were all sucking in helium from her balloons.

In school, we have to write to a famous person, asking them to attend a poetry reading on the last day of school. I wrote to Laura Bush. I think I wrote a pretty good letter, so who knows? She actually might come... This is what I wrote:

My name is Elizabeth Hembree and I am a seventh grader at Hyre Middle School in Akron, Ohio. I am writing to invite you to a poetry reading on Thursday, June 2, 2005 in the school library. It runs from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. During the day, students will be reading their favorite poem or literary excerpt to those in attendance. My class will be presenting during the 8:00 hour. You are welcome to share your favorite poem as well. You may bring the rest of your family, because it is an open event.

I have been on the Honor Roll since 1st grade, and am currently enrolled in the Enriched Language Arts and Social Studies classes at Hyre. I am taking French, but plan to take Spanish 1 next year when I am in the eighth grade. I am the student council representative for my class, play the cello in our orchestra, and sing in the choir. I was also on the basketball team. My school offers many opportunities for the students to be involved in. It is a great school system.

I understand that someone in your position receives many requests and you are very busy. However, I would be very honored if you would be able to attend.

This assignment is also a grade for the structure of a buisness letter. Actually, right now I am in the school computer lab and just finished typing/printing this out. I hope that I get a good grade and, perhaps, the First Lady and her family will be able to come.

Wednesday

Today was Wednesday. I finally almost finished my science fair! I am so happy because I am usually a procrastinator. Just like my lovely sister Audrey (:-D) Anyways, I went to youth group and had a good time. I really tricked Audrey when playing "3Pin KnockDown" I just walked over and knocked down the pin she was guarding. It was sweet.

Well, Karl had a really good lesson about priorities and how u GOTTA have God as ur #1! It really hit me on how i set my priorites, which isnt all that good. I hope that I can finally get them straightened out. Usually, I am soo absorbed in trying to act like something I'm not, and in the long run i'm not happy. i try to make sure everything is perfect. im sure i would be a whole lot happier if i just be myself and not be so obsessed with perfection, because earthly is!!

In Language, mr. berringer is teaching us on how to set up a buisness letter. we have to write one to a famous person and invite them to this poetry reading on the last day of school. i am inviting Laura Bush. I think i was pretty persuasive enough, who knows? maybe she avtually will come!

Interm

I got my interm today. I am really proud of myself because I got all As!!!! especially in math, which i got 100%.. I am planning on takin Algebra next year along with Pre-Honors English and Spanish 1. Idk for certain yet whether i will be taking Algebra yet. I kinda want to, and kinda dont. i know i am "capable" of it, but that would mean 3 high school credits. I am in regualer 7th grade math right now, not Pre-Algebra. This one girl said that algebra is easy if you have a strong hold on the pre-algebra material. i dont even know the basics!! audrey said that the first couple weeks of algebra you go over the pre-algebra stuff. we have Pre-Algebra software, but it apparently doesnt work on our computer because our cp is too sophisticated (and thats about the only time my Windows 98 will ever be) LOL anyways, im gonna IM some ppl so ttyl!

Happy Valentine's Day 

Moviez

Last night, all three of us Hembree kids had a friend over. Philip had a friend named Jake, Audrey had Jennifer, and then Tonnie came over. After school, we went to the movie store and rented a couple movies. Last night, me and Tonnie watched "The Forgotten" It was really good, pretty suspenseful, and had (what I think of as) good acting. I won't tell you everything, but in the end, it all works out for everyone. Then me and Audrey watched "The Grudge" this morning. It was a cool, but nonsense. Nothing really made sense and all the people were like "ahhh" throughout the whole movie. **During the movie, my mom, dad, and Philip went to the bingo hall for baseball sign-ups and so we were all alone (and in the basement I might add) Now, Audrey and I don't get scared that easily when watching a "scary" movie, but we kinda did this time, and it had nothing to do with what we were watching.. The phone rang and Audrey went to go answer it. It was some guy for my dad and he asked when he would be home. "In a couple of hours" Audrey said. After she hung up, I'm like 'a couple hours' and she was like 'i dunno why i said that' so we were getting scared so audrey went and locked (even dead-bolted) the doors and when so came back down the steps with a broom. she asked me which one would hurt more: the bristle tip, or the handle. LOL it was so funny, one of those times you have to be there for...
anyways, i am having yet another uneventful day so thats all i have to say. iLy! -*-

Yet Another Boring Day

I guess the title says it all..lately i have been very bored. During second period today we had a 8th scheduling assembly. mrs. stroll talked through almost 2 whole periods. "unfortunatly" i had no social studies or math class. aww, i know you feel my pain, right? Ha ha..yeah right.. Anyways, tomorrow is Dr. Naidu's last day before going to Robinson Academy. The whole school gets pizza! yee-yah! My homeroom teacher is taking over, and i also have him second period too, so who will be my teacher? well..idk! people have been telling me that we will have a sub for the rest of the year, but mr. brodbeck hasnt anything about leaving... **man, i am bored... --shout out to kristen as is her 13th birthday! Yippee, happy birthday girl!--
Who am I is playing again... i was watching a re-run of Smallville where the son from Home Improvement and also the voice of Simba from the Lion King was on and he had like a mutant body that his "twin" came out from his back. EWW, man..thats plain -gross- kinda reminds me of "my Big-Fat-Greek Wedding" where thats weird old lady is like "i had a lump on the back of my neck... they did a bi..bipo..bipopobbletopsy [biopsy] where they found a spinal cord and teeth. inside that lump was my twin" LOL that would be soooo freaky.!.!.!.

Blogging: The Effect Of Boredom..

Well, here I am again, blogging because I am bored. Atleast I don't have school tomorrow! Yah!!! And then tomorrow night we have YG, :). I love going there. Everyone makes it fun, yet serious.

Ordinary, Boring Day..

well, i just got home like 20 minutes ago and had to unload a whole bunch of groceries from the trunk and we bought a looooot of chips, apparently there was a sale of chips or something. i wont name off everything we got but we FINALLY got some good cereal..not like corn flakes or cheerios or any of that healthy stuff..froot loops, yeah..the GOOD stuff

anyways, i said my poem in french and i got a "c'est bon" <*good job*> from the teacher and the class (the class was forced to..) lol then we watched a stupid movie about Louisianna bcuz of Mardi Gras tomorrow which was made ^ by the french i guess so she is pretty physced about that

um..wat else can i post about...
in gym my volleyball team the "big bo's" (idk y we are called that..i didn't make ^ the name) won a game so we are now 1-1, im sure you really wanted to know that too... :)

well, thats all i guess..ill prolly post a little something tonight mayb...

Sunday Afternoon

hey, im just sitting here at my Dell typing anything that comes to mind..you know it is sunday afternoon, the day of rest. right now the song "who am i" is playing on windows media player on my Playlist. Well, today in sunday school me and kristen gave out denomination report. we had props and everything: venn diagram. Everyone said that we did good which made me feel good. i was wearing a pair of high heeled shoes and i could not stand up in them! seriously, when i went up to read the report i felt like i was gonna tip over. same thing during choir when we stood up to sing. i almost feel cuz there is really thick carpet up there. i never felt like falling over in those shoes before, but for some odd reason, i did today.. audrey asked james before choir pracrice "what song are we singing, the sour milk song?" (Bittersweet) lol funny stuff audrey..

well, that is pretty much the only thing on my mind..so bye i guess

Dentist Trip II

Well, I went into the dentists' office today for an annual cleaning. Remember a previous post I wrote about how I got that filling and my mouth was numb? Well, it happend again, this time on the other side of my mouth. This time it was reeeally numb!! I was rinsing my mouth out with flouride and it was all dripping down my face, lol. So was my milk and soup from dinner..
Today, volunteers from the student council at school were allowed to stay after school to bake cookies for the Ronald McDonald House. I was going to stay and help, but decided against it because my dentist appointment and that ran into eachother. I tried calling Mom on her cell, but it wasn't even ringing. (She says because she was in Acme and connection for T-Mobile doesn't work inside there) so I called my house to see if she was home so she could pick me up. Without realizing it, I dialed the Kozy's number!
Ring Ring
Beckie: Hello?
Me: Mom?
Beckie: Elizabeth?
Me: Yes...
Beckie: Uh, this is Beckie, you called my house!
Me: I did? Oh my gosh, I did!! I wasn't thinking while I was dialing!! :-0
Beckie: Oh, okay..I saw Akron Public Schools and I was like 'Huh?'
Me: Ha ha. Well, bye

Ab-normal Day!

Before I start typing..forgive the typos..i have a sprained wrist!

--*Today in choir mrs. laktash was in a baaaaaad mood and she said "i dont feel better than yesterday xcept today i dont feel like im gonna throw up every time i talk" wow..keep those comments to yourself please! anyways, we sang a song called Kizari Nzuri or something. its in Swalili. one of the lines is Kwatiooticoobwa (Kwah-tee-oot-tee-koop-wah) or something and i couldnt pronounce it!
Then i went and got my eyebrows waxed. OUCH! Beauty comes painfully...
then in french, she hasnt been there inawhile and i was only there 1 day she was cuz i was sick for 3 days. i raised my hand and when u wanna ask a ? u gotta say "May I speak in English?" but in French. and of course i was clueless, as usual..i was like "huh?" and then she did roll call and we g2 say [[im gonna sound them out bcuz i cant spell french words]] E C J'm appelle [Elizabeth] [something] noof le poeme <--word of the day. and i couldnt pronouce them rite and then some ppl were laughing @ me..but its ok, idc..i woulda laughed @ myself too, i sounded ridiculous!!
--i*t is pretty late and i still havent done my math homnework..i am just like ma big sister..i put everything off until the very end..lol..
