Whoo! We won our game against Reidinger. The score was something like 35-10. So now, the Hyre Lady Hawks are 4-0. We play again tomorrow at Litchfeild (wish us luck! :-/)

One of our very good players on first string was unable to play today, so they put the point guard on 2nd string (my team) in for her. They also subbed in the substitute point guard on 2nd string in with the 1st squad. (Are you following me ok?) It is against the rules to play anyone from the first quarter in with the people playing second quarter (1st squad plays first quarter, and 2nd squad plays the second) So, in the second quarter, Coach Firtha played me as point guard since she couldn’t put the other second string point guards in. I have never played point, nor practiced it. Of course I knew the idea, to pass the ball and call the plays! But something intimidated me. It was probably the little punk girl guarding me. She had a bad attitude and would be cussing at me and whatnot. Not to mention a hard head! I like cracked my nose on her head! OUCH!! I was about to cry!

I didn’t play up to my full potential today, which makes me feel kind of bad, but I completed all my passes (well, up until that last one! LOL Audrey) My team played well! The only thing was I didn’t have a lot of opportunities to make a basket, so I didn’t score any points today. There was this one time where I fell-I must have tripped over somebody or something- and I went tumbling to the ground, did a little roll, and popped right back up. I must have looked hilarious :-D

School was good. I’m so excited because Audrey is coming to my school tomorrow with the Ellet Madrigals to practice the Hallelujah Chorus with us. I don’t have too much homework, which ROCKS!! But I do have to go set the table soon :’(

Don’t forget to take me Poll! :-D

Oh, and a little birdy told me that my principal, Mrs. Mann, reads my blog!! I don’t know is that good? LOL Just kidding. So, HI MRS. MANN! :0)

Thanksgiving
Wow, this Thanksgiving I had so much to be thankful for. Of course, I'm thankful for my health and all. But I've learned so much this year about myself. I think I actually am beginning to realize who I am. I'm not torturing myself trying to be somebody or something I'm not. I'm beginning to like myself and not feel so trapped in the unfortunate occurances in my life. I'm not a mentally depressed person! I'm happy to be alive!! God is so good, no matter if we are the richest, most happiest person on Earth, or the poorest, most joyous person! Why should we only consider him a good God when everything is going perfect? We just can't do that!
I am so thankful for my family. I'm thankful to God that he gave me a Christian family to be born into. Honestly, without them, I've no clue what I could be like. I can honestly only imagine what my life could have been like if I was born with parents who don't know Him. And although we are going through some hard times right now, including Dad's unemployement, we've managed to stay strong and close.
Which brings me to my next point: My church family. They are all so supportive! The whole congregation is like one big biological family! When one person is having a hard time, you can always count on your Brown Street Baptist Church family to help you through it. I love you all so much!
I am also so very thankful for my friends. They will lift me up no matter what! All of them have that sense of quirkiness to them. I guess that's why I love them! :) I thank you guys so much for making me smile and laugh and just let loose and have fun! All of you are so fun to be around. Even though some of us are so totally opposite, we find away around that to be close! Hey you know what they say, opposites attract!
So Lord, THANK YOU.

WOOOO HOOOO!

We won our game against Goodyear! 10-47. We allowed only one bucket the whole first half. Not to be mean -- but they weren't very good, though I know I'm not "politically correct" on that [lol Hayley] I mean, I think this made us a little too overconfident. I give them tons of credit though for sticking it out! I could tell they were really determined.

That gym was so tiny! I was talking to Nikki on the bench and we're like "I'm seriously getting clausterphobic!" The court ended 5 inches from where we were sitting, and the baselines were like a 8 inches away from the wall. It was insane! That school is so cool though. It kinda felt like you were in a castle. I got lost coming back from the bathroom. Like I said, it was crazy. And walking down steps from the bleachers was like pitch black. Besides a castle, it kind of felt like prison because it just felt so cold and dark and contained.

What made me alittle perturbed was how Coach Firtha specifically said not to do fastbreaks, and how when we get the ball to set up the plays [because Litchfeild once did that to her when they were dominating the scoreboard and it was awful and cruel!!] and when we were trying to inbound the ball, they didn't set up for the plays! So I was all confused and this and that. But the good news is I made some shots. I made a feild goal and a technical foul shot. Everyone on my team agreed that the hoops were really high. Maybe beacause they were fastened right on the wall, I don't know, but they seemed too high. It was hard to make a lay-up into.

And that's that. Nothing all that incredibally awesome happend today. I sooo hope Minnesota beats Green Bay! Not because I care about the teams at all, but because I chose the Vikings in Mr. Wentzel's class and I want to prove to him that I, a girl, am know just as much about the athletic world as a boy. It's sexist! Nobody thinks girls are good at sports. Well girls, we gotta prove them boys incorrect! :0)

This weekend I spent some time with Kristen Adams. I had a lot of fun! So, she picked me up Friday and we went out to dinner at Max&Erma's. I got a first-hand look at her purse :). LOL. I got a 10 oz. burger and fries. I think I am going to buy Lenny some Q-Tips because be thought I wanted my beef done medium instead of medium rare. I was fun to try and eat that though! I could "still hear it moo!" LOL. Kristen got this special deal that included a desert so we each got a sundea bar at the end of our meal. I just piled EVERYTHING on. It was soo good, too.

After dinner we went to Berean so she could get a CD for the romantic getaway she is going on with her husband. I helped her find one and she ended up getting the new Bethany Dillon cd. She said she'd trust me that is was good even though I've only heard one song on it before! Then I began looking for a good devotional to do. She helped me find one on witnessing, which I feel like is a definate area in my Christian walk I need to work on. Then we went back to her house.

I think it is unnecessary to tell you all how absolutly adorable her kids are. First thing I get from them when I walk in the door is a big welcome with them jumping all over. All three of them are so welcoming and cute! After staying about 20 minutes, we left one more time for the grocery store to pick up some supplies needed for the Bucks party. We got Herbie: Fully Loaded and then went to find some plates/napkins/cups/ect. I picked out these awesome animal plates for the chips and salsa. I mean, they were awesome. And being the forgetful person that I am, we stopped in the oral care aisle to get me a toothbrush.

When we got back to her house, they put the kids to bed and Clint, Kristen, and I started the movie. Clint left way before it was over (lol). I'm not sure what it was, but I just couldn't get into it. It was a cute movie though. So, we were both tired so we headed up to bed.

The next morning, we went to the craft show/bake-sale at Katie's school. There were a lot of interesting things at each table.

During all of the car rides and dinner we had a lot of conversations. Kristen is such a nice and happy person to be around. I enjoyed myself a lot. So, to Kristen: Thank you so much for inviting me to spend time with you. It was really nice to get to know you better and be able to get closer to you. And remember "You're so cool, everybody wants to hang out with you!" :)

"Elizabeth, are you going to put pictures of us on your blog?"
Why, of course! :

Wednesday, November 16

Hey, well we won our game against Innes today 39-23 I think it was. In Language Arts class, Mr. Wentzel had me and Kiera predict the outcome of the game. I was only off by 4 points for us, and a lot for them! I also predicted the Bucks/UM game which is 28-23. He said that was fairly reasonable. LOL, we were talking about discrimination against the genders one day and I rose my hand and said, "Why don't you let girls predict football scores? Are you saying some of us don't like football?" (And if you know me, you def know that's NOT the case!) So that's why he let me. Hey, maybe "Little Liz" will beat out "Big Al" and "Dan the Man". LOL.

Wow, I just finished my AMERICAN REVOLUTION acrostic. It was really hard, especially on V and the Os. Oh, well, thankfully it's done with! I still have to read my Tom Sawyer book, but I will do that in the morning because frankly I'm pooped!

Tonight at the revival meetings the teens sang. I got shoved over behind the podium! LOL. My voice is kind of messed up so I don't know how I sounded. I keep coughing and it's so annoying. When Norm was speaking I felt bad when I kept coughing because I thought that I was distracting everybody. But the awesome thing was, a lot of the teens made decisions tonight. Individually, I don't know what they were, but I'm certain they were Godly discisions to help make their lives more for Him. I've never had the priveledge of seeing somebody make a decision to except Christ, but from what I have heard, it is one of the best feelings. I pray God will give me the power to be able to expirience that someday.

Tomorrow is Thursday, the last day of the school week. YEAH! I have a Spanish test tomorrow. When I took the online quiz, I got a 19/20, so hopefully I will do well!

I cannot wait for Friday and the weekend. :0) I'm sure it will be A LOT of fun!

Monday, November 14

Yuk...

Yuk. That's how I feel. But I'm going to attempt to go to school because every morning I feel like this and I don't go, I always feel a lot better in a couple hours. Then Mom says, "You could have gone to school". In fact, I feel a lot better already. Audrey is home sick today. She says it's the first time she's missed school since seventh grade...yeah right! Hehe. Well, since Dad only has to take just me to school, we won't be leaving until a little bit longer, so I thought that I would blog.

We have a scrimmage after school today against Springfeild I think. After that I come home and soon after that we are going to church for the Norm Sharbaugh meetings. The choir is singing "His Eye Is On The Sparrow". It's so pretty :)

I just realized something, I am going to see my church people like almost everyday this week:Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Wow! I just hope they don't get sick of me! LOL

My dog is licking me door frame right now.....:-\ If animals can have mental problems, I seriously think Tippy does. Not to be kidding or anything, this dog is weird! It's so funny when she hears something outside and she runs to the window and jumps up to look out only to find that the window is shut and she slips and falls. Hehe.

Arkon's Going National!

While shopping at Summit Mall with my grandma, mother, and sister, we came upon some carts. Mom was looking Perusian made purses or something (LOL Audrey!!) and me and Grandma went over to another cart. It was a RCCC cart (Rubber City Clothing Co.) I was so neat because they were all shirts pertaining to Akron. One said AK-ROWDY; Bright Lights, Climp City; and SAVE ROLLING ACRES! And the cool part is, they are shipped nationally. Like on their website, they had like 5 diehard Devo fans wearing the shirts in Japan. LOL. You should check it out, they're cute.

*Blank Stare* I'm bored.
Here I am on the computer
Now, I'm off to do something productive!

Uh-Oh Elizabeth!

Wow guys, I never thought I'd say this, but I like an FFH song. Now before you all freak out, listen closely. A song. Entitled "Ready to Fly". It's got cool lyrics and sweet back-up music, along with some nifty chords. But I realized, I can listen to a little bit of FFH once in awhile, but I'm not sure I could listen to an entire cd.

It's very cold, especially in my house. Brr!!

I was watching the Bucks game. Wow, last I saw we were whooping Northwestern 28-7.

So, how do you like my new blog template? I honestly am kinda iffy about it. I don't like that saying at the top and can't figure out how to change it. Oh, well. I'll probably change it soon anyways.

Basketball is going well. Coach Firtha just told me yesterday that she wants to try and get me in longer. I hope so! I'm just not going to slack off!

Hmm, well we went to the mall yesterday to get Audrey a present for her friend. Afterwards, we dropped her off at her friend's house because she was spending the night. All the rest of us went to the China King Buffet. It was good, except the food wasn't hot, it was just barely warm. And all their desserts were like coffee flavored. Yuk. They must thing we American's are obsessed with coffee, just like they LOVE their tea! Or is that the Japanese? I don't know. Anyways, it was nice to go out to dinner with my family (minus Audrey, but we wish you would have come too!)

Tomorrow is church and I've yet to read the QB material :( Shh, don't tell my team! Last week was awful. I got the first two questions and then got the next two wrong, so The Big Macs were back to square one, literally. I felt really bad. I always feel bad when I let people down. It's like I can't stand it and I HATE doing it! I have no idea what we are singing in choir either. Is it the one that's like all gospely? I don't know. We'll soon see...

Next week is the Bucks/UM game. I'm going to try not to talk trash (as I did in the previous post) because me and Audrey both agree the best feeling in sports is proving somebody wrong, and the worst is being proven wrong. But that's not to say I don't have faith in the bucks!

Well, my fingers are half frozen off so I'd better stop typing before I freeze like Bubba! (LOL Hayley!)

Oh, my!

Here's a picture of the tree across the street. Kinda freaky, huh? The two guys that live over there (they are brother's) just decided to wack half the branches off of it one day last year or so. It turned out to be a strange, twisted mess. I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but the bottom branches are all twisted. What a mess! It was such a beautiful tree before they destroyed it!

The Untitled Post

Well, hello there everybody! We won our first game of the season yesterday, 53-23! Woo!

Other then that, nothing much has happend today. I just felt like posting...something, anything.

During 6th period when I am an office helper I read the ABJ comic section. If you get the chance, find today's paper and open up to the back pages of the E section. I thought the Ziggy comic was really funny today. It says "Low credit? No credit? Then turn this thing off and get a job!" Hehe, it was supposed to be a commercial on tv. It made me laugh. I love reading the comics. Most of the time they are stupid, but sometimes they are hilarious. I like Get Fuzzy and Foxtrot.

Well, my mom is at her Lady's Retreat with the church. I hope you has fun, and learns a lot! So since she is there, there is just Dad here. Don't get me wrong or anything, I LOVE MY MOMMY TO DEATH, but I like spending time with Dad. I have been seeing him a lot lately since he has been out of work. He says he hasn't heard anything, which is kind of frustrating. I feel bad for Dad, he works so hard to support and supply for our family. But I am certain, anyone who gets him as an employee will be very happy :)

Well anyways like I was saying, Dad has over a few guys from church, to bond together as MEN. They seem like they all really get along well, which is awesome.

Oh, my girl cat isn't a girl. She is a he, er...he is a he. Dad took Squeaks (such a manly name, isn't it?) to the vet yesterday and they said he was a healthy boy. Yikes, what is it will the Hembree's and cat genders? I mean the same thing happend with our last cat. We took him to the vet thinking he was a girl and came home with a boy. Poor little guys, they probably have serious identity problems. Maybe that's why they all go crazy, besides the fact that they live with Tippy. But, surprisingly, Squeaks and Tippy actually get along. I mean, they even play around with eachother. I know, weird.

I can't wait for the 19th! Bucks party! WooHoo! The most anticipated game in the Big Ten (if you live in Ohio or Michigan, of course). I love to see James's face turn red when Zwick throws for a touchdown, or A.J. makes an incredible sack. Hehe :0) Bring the Kleenex!

It's Just Another Day...

Hey ya'll. Thank you greatly for your comments.

Nothing exceptionally signifigant has happend today. Tomorrow we have a scrimmage against the Ellet freshmen team. Kind of nervous...eh..?

Hey now, I have some good news. I don't have to give my oral presentation for Spanish until Thursday. It's not that I'm nervous, but I just don't want to get up infront of the room and speak another language.

*Long sigh*

What to post. Hmm...

School is boring, and in return it makes you boring. Realize, when was my last good post? Probably before school began. They brain-wash you of your own thoughts and opinions and refill it with useless information. Like who cares that Andrew Jackson got a bullet stuck in his shoulder and lung, and who cares what color baby the offspring of a BB brown bear and a Bb bear will make? WHO CARES? And how long are we going to have to listen to teacher's pointless lectures about the weather? How long will it be before we get a decent meal instead of fake processed soy meat? How long until you can sit through a class without harassment from other students. And I dare to ask, how long until we can finally get a decent education?! Do they really pay the teachers to talk about why the sky looks blue when the progress guide tells them to talk about the moons of Jupiter?

Now, don't get me wrong, because I think my teachers are all very well educated adults, but why on Earth don't they teach what's in the lesson plan? It just boggles my mind.

Hehe, my venting period is now over. Anything else wrong in the world? No, there's to much to pick and chose one thing. Maybe tomorrow....

The Inbox of my e-mail is empty. If you ever have the time, please feel free to write me an e-mail, just saying hi. And I will write you back. I know, e-mail is a little outdated with instant messenger now, but please, just a quick little hello would brighten my day.

Well, this has wasted about two minutes of your reading time. I'll try to post more often.

~And that's all she wrote...

Adorable...

I saw this picture on the internet and I just thought it was too cute! It looks like some of the little figurines my mom has around the house. Absolutly adorable...

I've been trying to keep up with the posting, but I'm noticing I'm begining to get no comments again. I don't care what the comment's about, as long as I have some! Like I said, I love hearing from you guys. Oh, and don't forget, the Chatterbox has been very, very quiet lately too.

200th post!!

Yeah! Yet another blog milestone. Thanks for reading, everybody! :)

Well, these past couple days have been good. Let's see, so my last post was Thursday? Okay, so from Friday on is what I will post about...

Well, Friday was just another average, normal day at Hyre Middle School. We finally got to pic out our jerseys. I got #21 again and #5 warm-up. Those things are so comfortable! For track last year I got a medium and the warm-up pants were like high-waters, so I got a large this time. I also had my orchestra test. Me and my stand partner, Lydia, were like sweating it out because, I don't know about her, but I wasn't too good at the section we were supposed to play. I was so nervous that I couldn't help pace around the room. One time I went up to the piano and pretended to bang really loud on it, and right when my fingers almost hit the keys the fire alarm went off. I was told I practically jumped half way across the room and Lydia jumped like 5 feet into the arm off her stool. Let's just say, it scared me half to death!

After practice, I got a Dr. Pepper and went home. Grandma and Grandpa took us out to dinner at Ryan's. I love buffets! Not because I eat a whole bunch (which honestly I don't) but because I can pick and choose, expiriment, and if I don't like something, I just leave it and get something else. Anyways, the food was really good. I had : macaroni and cheese, a roll, friend chicken, mashed potatoes, steak, cookies, Dr. Pepper, and milk. But like I said, I didn't eat all of it.
Wow, Jose can make one mean steak. I went up to steak counter and my buddy the steak chef, Jose, gave me this juicy, tender, oh-so-delicious slab of beef. Medium rare is the best. Of course, I almost choked twice because of the think, stringy fat glubbing all over the edges. I let Grandma have the rest that I couldn't finish. She was like, "Ay! When I cut this steak, I can hear the cow moo!" LOL! I was cracking up!

After the wonderful dinner we all went home to Grandma and Grandpa's with full stomachs and tired eyes. Grandma, Audrey, and I watched tv until about 9:30 before I was half dead and ready for bed. I slept really well to say the least.

This morning I woke up to the fried egg, toast and fried salami Grandma made me. I woke up a couple of hours before Audrey because I had a doctors appointment at 9:15. Mom picked me up at 8:15 and we talked for about 20 minutes before we headed to see Dr. Ginther. He told me that my foot was doing awesome, but that I still wear the aircast for a while longer, just so I don't hurt it again before it is healed. So that's 6 weeks postinjury. And I sprained it 2 weeks ago yesterday, so I only have to wear it for one month longer... >:-\ Grr...

After the appointment we went back to Grandma's to go shopping. On the way to JCPenny's, we stopped at the cemetary to see Grandpa Vic. It was a really nice spot, overlooking a river. I miss him... After that, we went to the Grand Opening of the new JCPenny's. Wow, big mistake! That place was paaaaacked! Audrey even said she saw US National Security officers there! I mean, it was loud and full of people. Pretty soon after walking into the door we decided to leave and go to Summit Mall. I got a new blouse to go with my brown skirt for tomorrow, two plain long sleeved shirts, a pair of jeans, and a new purse. Me and Audrey played the Disney Store Game. That's where you walk into the Disney store and try to get to the back of the store and touch the big screen without being asked "May I help you?" I lost because they were like "Hello, ladies, finding everything okay?", but Audrey won. Loser... LOL, JK. Soon after we headed home.

Which is where I am now. The OSU game was on ESPN I guess so I couldn't watch that :( They better've won! Well, words are so low g2g!

" you really need to start postin som more stuff. "

A quote by my buddy Tylesha. Yes all, I know I have been a little lazy in my posting lately. Now, I'm not trying to make any excuses for myself or anything, but I've been quite busy. Right after school I have practice, then I come home and pretty soon I eat dinner. Then comes the truck load of homework I receive everyday, then I am just so pooped I plop down on the sofa, never to move again. What I'm trying to say is until the season is over, my bloggingness shall be limited. Sorry everybody...:( But hey! People are (sort of) beginning to post again! I'm actually being outdone! LOL. Usually I would post like 5 times a week, 4 of which were the random, off-the-top-of-my-head kinda stuff.

I honestly think I am a magnet of some sort. I am just so prone to injury. Of course the obvious, my ankle got sprained, and then today I got my finger stoved and got rambed in the bone next to my ear with an elbow. Ouch! Hey, they want me to be more aggressive, so that's what I'll give them. Of course, they'll get a body cast mummy in return.

The team captions finished the design of the hoodies. Here's what I know them to look like: Light blue, "Lady Hawks" on the front, first name on one arm, and last on the other, a basketball on the front, and "swooshing" ball on the back, our number, and nickname. I don't know about you, but these seem kind of jam packed with stuff. I'm not really into the name on sleeves and the nickname in the back. First of all, I don't even have a nickname. The girls were trying to figure one out for me. The best they could think of was Granny, because they tease me about my "granny brace". LOL, don't worry, I don't take that offensively, I laughed along. Please, please, please! If you read this PLEASE comment me with a nickname that you think I should have, because if worse goes to worst, I will be forced to put granny on the back. And I would need to know before I go to school tomorrow. Call me in the middle if the night if you have to!

Me and the girls are singing "Written In Red" on Sunday. Even though we have sang it before, I kind of forget the harmony. We sound pretty good, I think. During practice on Wednesday though, my voice was cracking galore! I just pray that that won't happen on Sunday! I'll just eat some water and drink some chips before I go up.

Well, words are low so I better go!
